Body Detox with Foot Patch/Pad/Pouch
The foot is an important part of our body. It helps us walk, run, dance, stand and even swim. Notwithstanding the bacteria that cause our feet to smell at the end of the day, we often take our feet for granted. As part of our body detox program, using a foot detox patch/pad/pouch can be a complementary way of looking after our feet. This patch/pad/pouch is becoming increasingly popular among people as a way of detoxifying the body as it only involves wearing it on your feet while you sleep through the night.
A foot patch/pad/pouch is a self-adhesive pad that absorbs toxins from the foot soles during sleep. Ingredients used in foot patches range from natural plant extracts such as distilled bamboo vinegar, wood vinegar to far-infrared energy and negative ions. Other pads can include tourmaline (natural mineral), pearl stone, purified silica and eucalyptus oil among many other ingredients.
Upon waking in the morning, the person removes the patch and finds that it has turned dark. This supposedly means that the toxins have been drawn out from the feet via perspiration as claimed in advertisements for such foot pads (usually promoted in Asian countries). Some websites explain that the foot pads are designed around the foot reflexology concept of some sixty acupuncture points and zones in the feet that correlate to specific organs in the body. Based on this concept, wastes from these organs will collect in the feet and thus, can be drawn out via the skin.
Detoxify with Foot Patch
Scientifically, it is not possible to remove toxins via foot pads because the skin is not permeable. Yet, many such users swear by these foot pads – some people even find their chronic coughs, colds and headaches gone after a month of continuous use. Many users say that they feel more refreshed and experience better sleep after using foot pads. Others note that they do not suffer so much from acute joint pain and allergies just after wearing the foot pads for a while. These foot pads also claim to improve blood circulation and contribute to a healthier immune system. It is important to understand that using foot detox pads does not mean all the body toxins are removed. Rather, the pad can be used in conjunction with other detox programs.
It is usually recommended that people try wearing the foot pads (one pad on each foot) for at least a week to see the difference between first trying it out and the last day of wearing the pad. Generally, the first day will see an extremely dark-coloured pad. Over the next few days, the colour will lighten up and this supposedly means your body is being gradually detoxified. Such a pad can even be used to alleviate backache pain or any specific muscle pain.
Although the health benefits may sound dubious, people still choose to use this for convenience’s sake since it is easily portable and can be used at night during sleep. So why not try a foot pad tonight?
